ACFI Registration Profile Instructions
Welcome to the registration process for the Association of Certified Forensic Investigators (ACFI). Please follow the steps outlined below to complete your registration.

- If you are a new applicant, complete the **ACFI Registration Profile**.
- If registered, select **“Edit Profile”** in the left column to update your information.

STEP 1: BECOME AN AFFILIATE
The Association of Certified Forensic Investigators (ACFI) invites individuals interested in the prevention, detection, investigation, and mitigation of fraud to become Affiliates. This is also a supportive step before pursuing the Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI) designation.
Requirements to Become an Affiliate:

- Resume Submission:

- Upload a current copy of your **Resume**.

- **Application Fee:**

- Pay the **Application Fee of $100**

After submitting your application and payment, the Admissions Committee will review your AFFLIATION application. Decisions are typically provided within one to two weeks.
Please note that there is an an Annual Affiliation Fee of $175 is charged yearly after becoming an Affiliate.
If you are interested in perusing your designation as a Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI), please follow Step 2 & 3
STEP 2: BECOME A MEMBER & CERTIFIED FORENSIC INVESTIGATOR (CFI)/certified forensic technician (CFT)
Achieving the **Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI)** designation in Canada represents the pinnacle of excellence in the forensic investigation field. This certification is available exclusively to ACFI Affiliates who meet stringent standards of experience, education, and examination. Those Affiliates that meet all but the required experience are eligible for the Certified Forensic Technician until they have gained the required experience.

- Certification Application Fee:

- Pay the CFI / CFT Certification fee of $275, which includes the cost of the manual and exam.

- Manual and Exam:

- Upon payment, the Manual will be provided, and you must complete the exam within one year of payment.

After successfully passing the exam, prepare and upload the following required documents for your certification application:

- A current photograph of yourself (head and shoulders).
- A copy (front and back) of one piece of Photo ID (Government Issued)
- ISN Certification Application materials

Background Check

- ISN provides a wide range of background screening services to the ACFI. Their highly trained staff use the most current and innovative technology combined with industry leading expertise to provide comprehensive background check reports. Note: International verifications may result in additional application fees.

Review by Admissions Committee

- the Admissions Committee will review the application and ISN Report.

- Upon approval the designation certification will be presented to the successful applicant.
Please note that the CFI/CFT review and approval process can take 2 – 3 months.
An Annual Certification Fee of $275 is charged each year after certification.
